DESCRIPTION:Sharing the Magic of Live Music with Young Audiences\nChamber Music Charleston (CMC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Classical Kids Concert Series at Sottile Theatre. Beginning in September 2022\, CMC will present three performances of classical music combined with storytelling and stunning visual imagery tailored specifically for young audiences (recommended for ages 10 and under). Beginning in September 2022\, CMC will present three performances of classical music combined with storytelling and stunning visual imagery tailored specifically for young audiences (recommended for ages 10 and under). Each 45-minute program includes an educational introduction to the musicians and their instruments\, songs with audience participation\, and beloved stories set to music. \nThe series opens on Saturday\, September 17\, 2022 at 11 am with a performance of Ferdinand the Bull.  After an introduction to the musicians of the wind quintet – the flute\, oboe\, clarinet\, bassoon and french horn – the audience will be transported to Spain to learn about the history and culture of the county.  The concert concludes with a musical setting of the 1936 beloved children’s book “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson set to music.   The book’s memorable illustrations will be projected behind the musicians while the story is narrated. \nThe wind musicians of CMC will be joined by Spanish clarinetist Daniel Broncano of the Música en Segura (Spain) Festival. \n\n\n\n  \n
