DESCRIPTION:SCHUBERT Piano Trio in B-flat Major\, D. 28\, “Sonatensatz”\nPRICE Fantasie No. 1\nDVORAK Piano Quartet No. 2 in E Flat Major\, Op. 87\nElizabeth Pitcairn\, violin; Ben Weiss\, viola; Timothy O’Malley\, cello; Phillip Bush\, piano\nRenowned violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn and her legendary 1720 “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius return to Charleston for an intimate afternoon of chamber music in the historic ballroom of South Carolina Society Hall.  The program opens with Schubert’s youthful and charming Piano Trio in B-flat Major.  Florence Price’s evocative Fantasie No. 1 follows\, showcasing her unique voice as a pioneering African-American composer who blended classical tradition with a rich\, lyrical expression.
