After the successful inaugural “Chamber Music Legacy” concert in 2026, as part of CMC’s 20th Anniversary Season, CMC decided to continue presenting annual concerts to spotlight the success of its educational programs.   For the 2027 Chamber Music Legacy concert, three alumni from the CMC TWO program – violinist Elaina Gable (currently studying at the Peabody Conservatory), cellist Peter O’Malley (currently studying at the McDuffie Center for Strings), and bassist Devin O’Brien (currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music) – along with rising star violist Carlos Walker will be joined by acclaimed violin soloist Francisco Fullana for an afternoon of chamber music at the historic Dock Street Theatre.

The Dock Street Theatre performance is the culmination of a week-long educational residency presented through the Chamber Music Charleston Youth Chamber Music Initiative.

From March 1–7, 2026, internationally acclaimed violinist Francisco Fullana will lead an intensive week of performances, coaching, and educational outreach. During the residency, he will mentor students at the Charleston County School of the Arts as they prepare for a major competition in New York City, while visiting conservatory students will develop and present an interactive Introduction to String Instruments program for elementary school audiences throughout the Charleston area. Chamber Music Charleston musicians will also present the beloved Classical Kids concert, Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot, at the Dock Street Theatre.

The residency culminates with Chamber Music Legacy at the Dock Street Theatre, featuring Francisco Fullana alongside outstanding young artists from leading conservatories across the US.

Together, these events celebrate the vitality of classical music by connecting internationally recognized artists, emerging professionals, and young students in a shared artistic experience—demonstrating that the future of chamber music is already taking shape through the next generation of musicians.
