EDUCATION SPOTLIGHT CONCERT

As part of its 20th Anniversary Season, Chamber Music Charleston (CMC) presents a special concert celebrating the organization’s dedication to education and mentorship. The performance will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the historic Dock Street Theatre.

The program showcases the exceptional artistry of both emerging and established musicians, featuring high school string students who are part of the CMC TWO mentoring program alongside accomplished conservatory students performing with acclaimed violinist Francisco Fullana. These young artists will perform Franz Schubert’s Quartettsatz and “Death and the Maiden” String Quartet, culminating in the finale of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.

The performance will feature an ensemble of outstanding young artists coached by violin soloist Francisco Fullana, including Maude Claudier (violinist studying at the Juilliard School of music), violist Govanny Brown and cellist Peter O’Malley (currently studying at the McDuffie Center for Strings), and violinists Elijah Liu and Ava Whitener, violist Callie Williams, anc cellist Myles Owens Walker (students at the Charleston County School of the Arts).

A recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Francisco Fullana is known for his radiant sound and commanding stage presence. He has appeared with major orchestras across the United States and abroad, and his ongoing collaborations with Chamber Music Charleston have become audience favorites.

The “CMC TWO” mentoring program was launched to provide exceptional high school musicians with the opportunity to work closely with CMC’s professional artists. Through private coaching, performance opportunities, and side-by-side collaborations, the program helps these students develop the artistry and professionalism required for a career in music.
