Position: Education Administration Associate

Chamber Music Charleston is a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to developing the audience for classical music through chamber music concerts and educational programs of the highest caliber.  Chamber Music Charleston produces approximately 25 individual House Concerts, 4 Ovation Concerts (at Dock Street Theatre and Sottile Theatre) and 3 Salon Series Concerts (at SC Society Hall) in addition to special events.  The newly launched Youth Chamber Music Initiative is a multifaceted program that includes Classical Kids Concerts, the CMC TWO program (mentoring of high school chamber music ensembles by the professional musicians of CMC), Classical Kids (mentoring of elementary and middle school student instrumentalists by accomplished high school instrumentalists), masterclasses and a residency with the Charleston County School of the Arts.

 

Who we are looking for: 

The Education Administration Associate has excellent communication skills, is extremely organized and detail oriented.  The individual will engage with many constituents including teachers, community leaders, students and patrons.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and execute a variety of activities essential to the successful implementation of CMC’s educational program.  Experience teaching string instruments and/or general music is a plus.
