Support Great Chamber Music

In 2006 Chamber Music Charleston began with a handful of performances in the beautiful, historic homes of Charleston.

With your support and enthusiasm we have grown to an organization that presents over 65 annual concerts, becoming an integral part of the cultural fabric of the Lowcountry.

Making Gifts to Chamber Music Charleston from your IRAs

If you are 70 ½ or older, you are eligible to make a distribution from your IRA to Chamber Music Charleston without paying income tax on the contribution.   The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.

This IRA charitable rollover possibility was made permanent when the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act of 2015 was passed by Congress and signed into law by the president on December 18, 2015.

Restrictions:

~ The distribution must be made from an IRA (other retirement accounts are not eligible).
~ The recipient must be an eligible charitable organization.
~ The IRA’s owner must be at least 70½ years of age.
~ The distribution must be made directly to the charity by December 31.
~ The distribution must otherwise be fully deductible as a charitable contribution.
~ The distribution must otherwise be included in gross income.

Donor Advised Funds

A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the ability to recommend how much and how often money is granted to Chamber Music Charleston. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

Please note, donating through a DAF may limit the donor benefits you can receive. Because a maximum tax deduction is received when funds are contributed through a DAF, a donor cannot legally receive any benefits with a fair market value gift. CMC will provide relevant benefits in your appropriate giving circle that have insubstantial or no fair market value.
