Season Highlights

Maxim Lando

Tango Meets Classical

Audience favorite violinist Francisco Fullana returns for our annual Tango Meets Classical program, joined by his friend and rising star pianist Maxim Lando. Together with musicians of Chamber Music Charleston, they explore the electrifying crossroads where sultry Argentine tango meets the grandeur of the classical tradition.

Loeffler’s Forgotten Octet

Unheard since 1897, clarinetist Graeme Steele Johnson embarked on a year-long reconstruction of the long-forgotten octet by Berlin-born, Boston-based composer Charles Martin Loeffler, resulting in the first critical edition of this expansive, kaleidoscopic work. Graeme is joined by American violinist Stella Chen, first prize winner of the 2019 Queen Elisabeth Competition and 2020 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, and members of Chamber Music Charleston for this program, which sheds new light on Loeffler’s influential role at the dawn of American music.

The Viano Quartet

Praised for their “virtuosity, visceral expression, and rare unity of intention” (Boston Globe), the Viano Quartet has quickly soared to international acclaim as one of the most dynamic and in-demand string quartets of their generation. Winners of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2025, the ensemble is Bowers Program Artists at The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center from 2024-2027.
