Chamber Music Charleston is a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to developing the audience for classical music through chamber music concerts and educational programs of the highest caliber.  Chamber Music Charleston produces approximately 25 individual House Concerts, 6 large scale concerts at the Dock Street Theatre and Sottile Theatre, 3 Salon Series Concerts (at SC Society Hall), and 3 Classical Kids Concerts, in addition to special events.

Position: Production and Administration Associate

Who we are looking for: 

The Production and Administration Associate assists with set up of House Concerts, run Box Office at select events, complete other administrative tasks.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, is extremely organized and detail oriented.  The individual will engage with many constituents including patrons and students.  The candidate must be able to lift moderately heavy items (to physical set up for concerts) and will have the ability to learn and execute a variety of activities essential to the successful implementation of CMC’s concerts.

Hours:

The Artistic Director will work with the Production and Administrative Associate to determine the schedule of hours, but this will be an hourly position with up to 19 House Concerts to produce (approximately 3-5 hours of work each) and 7 events requiring Box Office staffing (minimum 2 hours of work each).  The starting salary for this position is $20-$25/hour commensurate with experience.  This position is for the 2023-2024 concert season (September – May) with the possibility for renewal.

Position: Spanish Translator

Who we are looking for: 

The Spanish Translator is a temporary position to assist with translation of select marketing pieces and attend September 15 “Fiesta on the Square” in Summerville (6-9pm) to interact with guests.  The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English, has familiarity with Chamber Music Charleston (or is willing to learn about the organization), and will have excellent communication skills.

Hours:

Up to 2 hours of translating written marketing pieces between August 24-September 10, 2023.  Must be able to attend the Fiesta on the Square (Hutchinson Square Park, Summerville, Friday, September 15, 2023) from 5:30-9pm. Compensation to be negotiated.

Position: Social Media Photographer and Content Producer

Who we are looking for: 

The Social Media Photographer and Content Producer attends various CMC events to document the activities though creative photography and videography.  They will also create social media posts for the CMC Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Hours:

The Artistic Director will work with the Social Media Photographer and Content Producer to determine the schedule of events that will be covered, but this will be a per-project position.  Compensation to be negotiated.
